In
association with China Institute of Sports science's Test Labs (CISS)
and the
famous Tai Chi master Zhang Zhi Jun,
the Most Advanced experimentation ever conducted on Tai Chi Chuan delivers the long awaiting answers
from any internal martial art practitioner no mater his years of
practice:
Why Tai Chi Chuan can truly be the HIGHEST LEVEL IN
MARTIAL ARTS?
What are the real principles in Tai Chi Chuan
combat system?
How can you apply immediately these principles without even at a
beginning level?
Dear
Friend:
Knowledge is king not only in our modern
information oriented society and this was even vital for any martial
artist defending his own life or his honor in fighting challenge or
simply in the streets. In China as well as in any part of the world Tai
Chi Chuan surprises and enchantes with its elegant and relaxed moves
but many doubts exist about their effectiveness in real fighting. "Soft beating hard"
has much deeper theoretical background that most people ignore. When
modern and down-to-earth explanations issued from mechanical and
electrical sensors data analysis met Traditional Chinese Wisdom,
clarifying immediately Tai Chi Ch'uan skills through realistic
applications: your perception of martial arts will definitively change
and you will be able to apply this new vision in your daily training,
but also you will be able to apply it with a partner or even in real
situation of physical confrontation. Silk reeling - spiral twisting, Peng jing - ward off power, dimmak - internal injuries
... All these traditional training methods and techniques are much
clarified after analysis of these tests data.
Hi,
this is David Zhu. After several decades in China with top living
experts: meeting, studying with them and testing their major methods of
internal martial arts including Dachengquan/Yiquan, Taijiquan
(Tai
Chi Chuan), Xingyiquan (Hsing Yi Chuan), Baguazhang (Pa Kua Chang)...I
am proud to provide here one of the most advanced scientific
materials decoding Tai Chi Chuan and more precisely Chen Style Tai Chi
Chuan but as these are universal principles underneath they are
valid for any (internal) martial art.
Tired of empty movement or trying your
best to mimic your present Tai Chi instructor or your taolu video?
In most cases
anyone
who starts Tai Chi Chuan has to mimic, before all, his
instructor, but what is next? How many have the right knowledge to
build intelligently further steps in Tai Chi Chuan
achievement. How it would nice to be able, after understanding his real
principles, to defeat an opponent stronger and larger than you!! But
how do you start? Even after 10 years of routine practice without the
right knowledge, probably having read tons of books
repeating the same "four ounces defeating thousand pounds" stuff... But
still no satisfactory answer and especially no clues to get close
to this Highest Level of Mastery in combat! Many
practitioners will even stop their practice, resigning from
searching these missing keys or just focusing on Tai Chi Chuan
movements aesthetics or healing benefits ...
Fortunately for
us, China Institute of Sports Science Test
Lab made it clear for us.
There
are many ways to track Tai Chi Chuan knowledge but...
Should
you listen to the traditional discourse of lineage or authenticity of
form of some instructors, with such original form or coming from any
style founder's village? Or you prefer more tangible facts issued
directly from scientific testing and rational analysis?
Or based your understanding through progressive scientific testing
while sensing physical data such as force, pressure, speed,
acceleration ... and using digital scanning and bio-mechanics analysis
to
explain how, from
apparent "relaxed movement", a proven top Tai Chi expert can
issue
a fully integrated movement with explosive power and defeat a much
powerful (and younger) opponent?

sample of Part III
Here
are the major points that this video series will reveal (and
what most Tai Chi
instructors will never tell you)
The
major martial skills decoded in this video series:
"Four
onces defeating a thousand pounds" is not only true but we will from it
learn how it
is correlated to "Left-Right issuing power",
Single
muscle contraction against multiple muscles contraction (unified body),
Going
beyond the simplistic "Soft defeating Hard" and find how "Explosive
force can defeat even a huge -static- force",
How
suppleness becomes a weapon in pushing hands and free fighting,
Circling
is the ultimate motion strategy in Tai Chi...
Decoding
"Ting Jin" or
Listening force: especially useful in pushing hands (here tested with
blindfolded opponents to increase its difficulty )
What
makes Tai Chi Chuan fist lethal (in Part III)? The secret of internal
fighting decoded!!!
Here's
What Others Say about "The Highest Level in Martial Arts"
videos...
"Thank
you for sharing this knowledge! The vibrating lethal
Fist in DVD3 opens definitively new perspectives in fajing knowledge.
by Claudius P. - Sete (France)
I am really excited to write for you my opinion
about the knowledge given in your videos and for me the 3rd DVD
concluded perfectly the experiment on Tai Chi Chuan.
For those who train Tai Chi Chen: this gives you the confidence in
training your fist from slow motion up to final Fajing speed.
This litterally liberates me from the quest of power. No more
complex about not training huge muscles but rather pursuing
the more refined, whole body and penetrative newly form of
power.
I will not reveal further this true discovery as to respect these
materials contents. But sure I recommend it to any practitioner looking
for tangible ways to improve his martial skills and not the blurry
common stuff. Again thanks to Master Zhang ZJ !!!
"A
break through in Tai Chi skills explanations " by Luigi P.
Tai Chi Chuan Instructor - Alba (Italy)
It
saves considerably time and self
experience when you get to the principles exposed in these videos, you
clarify immediately your present practice a huge step. It's no more the
story of "cultural barrier" or language. I consider the experimentation
of CIS team as a breakthrough in Tai Chi Chuan skills explanations.
This is also very useful then to use the contents for my courses and
stages especially when it comes to the fighting aspects. Not only
techniques but "powerful techniques" whitin soft movements. The
Gripping hand technique is my favorite now as I can immediately show to
my students and visitor a physical skill spcific to Tai Chi Fighting
system besides the purely health aspects. But also for my own training,
focusing more in the specific techniques and to improve my fajing...
I admired Zhang Zhijun, even not so famous, his skills are amazing at
65, to beat so elegantly all his younger oppoenents and he has the
courage to reveal all his skills in full experimentation tests: HE IS
THE MAN.
Surely I will recommend this video.
"David,
you did again: an awesome material putting on the edge of internal
martial arts knowledge"... by Ramon E. - Madrid
(Spain)
David, you did again: an
awesome material on the edge of internal martial arts knowledge
I
really love this documentory, we can follow step by step the discovery
of real roots in Tai Chi combat skills and just after you are eager to
try by yourself strategies/techniques exposed. Sometimes I was
surprised by techniques used by Zhang ZJ, especially his fists which
were quite unexpected in Tai Chi arsenal generally speaking, but in the
same time I reconsider what you said as, principles "valid for any
(internal) martial art“.
Zhang's punch is so closed to xingyiquan's
-benqquan- Thus even being a tai chi expert, Zhang ZJ gives us the idea
how Guo Yunshen (XYQ Top master) could defeat any opponent with a
single punch...
After getting the explanations I felt that I capture something
immediately I could try in my own practice.
Last
thing: I just think that by adding a chapter about standing position
within Tai Chi Chuan this documentory should be even more complete.
Again great information, great wisdom and great expert!!!!
Now
let's see in details the contents of each part of "The Highest level in
martial arts".
After
launching in 2012 the
first two parts (I and II) of “The Highest level in Martial
Arts" , original parts III and IV have been
synthesized into
a single Part III which is now available below.
Each video is in Chinese with English subtitles.
Contents of Part I: Decoding
Tai Chi Chuan’s "4 taels moving a thousand
catties" skill
The CISS Team will start with
the two main questions: 1) "Are Tai
Chi Chuan skills real?" 2)
"Nature of his fighting system"
---------- First method of real physical confrontation: twisting hand
technique
How can a 65 year old man win against 22 years younger opponent, more
powerful and heavier (+22kg)?
How softness can subdue hardness? Even in a direct and very
physical confrontation where opponents are mutually gripping each other
with five
fingers trying to twist the other one‘s
hand? New Test 1:
Grip strength testing New Test 2:
Wrist rotation force
Explanation of silk reeling: clockwise then
counterclockwise rotation of wrist New Test 3:
Wrist rotation high speed force New Test 4:
Electrical test: Monitoring 8 most important muscles involved in
twisting hand movement that Zhang mobilized in explosive
force much muscles than his opponent.
How to
achieve "4 taels moving a thousand catties"?
New Test 5:
Motion capture test: Twisting hand. 3D capture with high-speed camera
and 28 LED optical sensors
Discover Tai
Chi Chuan's trick which permitted Yang Luchang to be invincible!!! All details
movements explained from 1000 frames/s motion capture. Micro movements in Tai Chi
moves. Application in twisting hand: 1)
bend/retreat hand with wrist and absorb power - mobilizing all upper
muscles 2)
counterattack
-----------2nd
method of real physical confrontation: defending when opponent uses
both hands to grab your arm as Yang Luchang used against one of his
deadliest opponent.

Contents of Part II: Decoding
Tai Chi Chuan’s "Soft
beats Hard", "Child
Prays to Buddha" skills
and arm wrestling application
In this DVD2 we start with the
analysis of the previous tests and some preliminary findings about Tai
Chi Chuan.
1) The global Explosive power of Wang Zhijun superior to his opponents
and even superior to his own "static" absolute power.
This new Whole dynamic power has his traditional name called "Jin"(WZJ)
2) Two movements can define "weaker" can defeat "stronger".
Zhu Weimo, a well known US expert in Kinesiology came to participate in
this experiment and confirms the general trends of this experiment
while also validating the martial level of Zhang Zhijun.
Empty movement: absorbing the power, anticipate then combine with a
surprising fast reaction movement
New Test 6: angular velocity of palm - Zhang's has twice a.v. than his
opponents. But also greater joint pliability.
New Test 7: body bending forward.
New finding: A superior balanced power skill + higher suppleness =
better refined movement
From Yin (absorb) to Yang (counter attack) and its equivalent of
scientific data (succession of specific micro movements)
Details of Twisting hand:
- stretch opponent joint,
- fingers side transforming power,
- Preparing full body power by completing joints linking reaction
Finally from passive he becomes active.
Clarifying Soft beats Hard: Soft is not a slacking power but a
controlled and highly mastered power preparing fast counterattack.
Applying this new knowledge with a more powerful opponent for a more
common practitioner.
Circling and tangent line: the secret principle of power application in
Tai Chi: never apply force face to face but rather on its tangent line.
New Test 8: maximum oxygen consumption: This test which reveals the
weakness of Wang Zhijun in oxygen consumption.
"very skilled fighter is not necessarily the most healthy."
Revising technique: "Child Prays to Buddha" is now
application against a whole body pressure. From twisting hand to
Twisting body.
New Test 9: Abs and Back force
--------------------------------------------------------
3rd Official opponent: Li Xuming
--------------------------------------------------------
Testing his gripping strength, abs and back strength compared to ZZJ
New Test 10: Balance test: 1) Hands holding, 2) hands released
-----------3rd method of real physical confrontation: Left right
strength
The most suitable confrontation to define: Four taels defeating a
thousand pounds.
Power according to Taichi principles: Peng jin: expanding power -
alignment and whole body power
New Test 11: Movement analysis of seizing
Confirmation of circle strategy
-----------4th method of real physical confrontation: Arm wrestling
New Test 12: Electrical and Mechanical Test of Arm wrestling. An
ultimate pure physical challenge for Zhang Zhijun in the very specific
arm wrestling.
Zhang will still manage to apply his Taichi skill of neutralization and
counterattack with the smallest power during this
confrontation.
